Flamming Schizophrenia

This collage centers around a blue "patient" who is laying horizontally in the middle of this piece. A doctor in a green jump suit is found in the middle constructing and manipulating the patient. This piece was influenced by the travels to a psyc ward with my abnormal psyc, on April 20 2006. Thanks Dr. Atlas for the Experience.

The narrative, and thought process, is the basis of most of my work this semester (2006). It started with a short story I created about a schizophrenic character who created a multiple personalities. In thinks he talks to other people, inside a psych ward. His friends encourage him to escape from the ward. This person travels outside the ward and finds himself embraced by nature. The change in scenery triggers a revelation of calmness and eagerness for a clear mind. He later finds out that all the people he talked to, were never there at all.

I decided to work with this mindset as far as clearing my own mind. I believe when you’re in nature, it is a very personal psychological space. It is life at it’s honest form. The images I revealed, with a clear mind absent from all these pre conceived stories became these “emotional landscapes” free of any pre planned idea.
