This piece is called "Settling in the Paralyzing Swamp" thats part of a series called "The Horrors of Adulthood."
The paintings intent is to display a humorous satire on "falling into daily routine". "Settling Down" or buying a house are the overwhelming events I was thinking of. The centered figure is stuck, scared, as if he is slowly drowning.
